Here it is, the most articulate delineation of "Sexism in the Media" I've seen so far (as it relates to 2008, of course). Check out Michelle Goldberg's piece from The New Republic after the jump.
Maybe it's just me--I've not always been accused of being the most attentive person in the world--but it's sure starting to look like a lot of Republicans are so fed up with John McCain's duplicity they are going to actively undermine his campaign!
NOTE: While this diary isn't meant to be insulting or demeaning, I'm sure some will take it that way. It is completely heart felt, and no ill will whatsoever is intended.
The race was "over" when Obama won eleven straight--yet the campaign continued. The Math (tm) was something that would be very difficult (impossible, as it turned out) for Hillary to overcome.
After a thunderous victory in the February 5th Super Tuesday caucus, I was very curious if the numbers would hold up in the state convention.
Did they ever!
Referencing Jerome's graph allocating votes per delegate: assuming his graph includes MI and FL and excludes caucus estimates, it doesn't really say a whole lot.
That aside, any serious attempt to overhaul or revamp the primary/caucus schedule apparatus needs to be focused on both the DNC and the various states. The states are given great latitude to conduct these things as they see fit--which is exactly as it should be. Additionally, other states (NC comes to mind) were rewarded with more delegates for taking a position later in the process, which may or may not be appropriate, although that doesn't seem to be the thrust of most arguments complaining about primaries or caucuses.
Bill Clinton, as he was for much of the 90s, is the last reasonable man.
For all the Clinton supporters out there--what say you when she concedes?
Frankly, I'm sick and f-ing tired of being called sexist because I chose Obama over Clinton.
I'm a white male who voted for Obama. I've voted for countless female candidates (some won, others lost), and will be campaigning and voting for a Native female in our Congressional primary.
MY vote, at least, is NOT sexist.
